The Wait Is Part of the Job

A window order spends far more time being built than being installed. Two windows go in during a morning. Those same two windows took five weeks to exist. So we treat the schedule as something to be quoted, not something to be apologised for later.

Every quote we hand over carries a lead time range and a short note explaining what is driving it. If two lines on your order have different lead times, and they often do, the whole job moves at the pace of the slowest one, and we say so.

Roughly What to Expect

White vinyl in common sizes, standard low-E glass, no grids: usually about three to five weeks from order release.

Colour on the exterior, wood interior, fiberglass frames, obscure or patterned glass, tempered units, grids, or anything wider or taller than the supplier’s standard band: usually six to ten weeks.

Anything genuinely custom, an arch, a shaped head, a specialty glass, an unusual mull configuration, can run longer, and a glass supply problem at the plant can add weeks to any of the above without warning. We would rather tell you ten and deliver in seven than the reverse.

Why Order Release Locks Everything

An order sits in the supplier’s system for a few days before it is released to production. In that period a change is genuinely free, and we will make one for you happily.

At release, the glass is cut to your dimensions and the vinyl is welded into frames at your sizes. From that moment your window is a physical object built to one house in Riverside. It cannot be resized, it cannot be re-coloured, and it cannot be sold to anyone else. A change after release is a new window at full price with a fresh lead time behind it.

So the lock date goes on your paperwork in plain language. You will know the exact day the free changes stop.

Scheduling the Install

We do not book an install date against a promised delivery. We book it once the units are physically received and inspected, because a crew booked against a truck that has not arrived is how a customer ends up with an open wall.

On receipt we check every unit against the measure sheet: size, glass, colour, operation, tempering stamp. Mistakes are caught in the warehouse, which is the only place they are cheap.

Install itself is quick. A retrofit unit in sound stucco is typically forty five minutes to an hour and a half. A full frame replacement with stucco cutting and patching is a longer day, and the stucco texture needs to cure before paint, so plan for a second short visit.

If Something Arrives Wrong

If the unit does not match our measure sheet, it is the supplier’s error, we reorder and you pay nothing more. If it matches the sheet and the sheet was wrong, that is ours and we carry it.

In both cases we do not leave you with a boarded opening. The existing window stays in and functional until its replacement is on site, which is another reason we do not remove anything before the delivery is confirmed.
