We Are a Shop That Thinks About the Measure First

Pinegenome replaces windows across Riverside. We are on Chicago Ave in the 92507 ZIP, and most of our work sits between the 91 and the 60, from the older streets near Victoria Avenue out to the tract housing off Alessandro.

Plenty of window companies organise themselves around the install day, because that is the day the customer sees. We organise around the two things that happen before it: the measure, and the wait.

Why That Order

A replacement window does not exist until somebody writes down the size of your opening. There is no warehouse of stock units in your dimensions. The sheet we fill in at your house is turned into a cutting list, glass is cut to it, vinyl is welded to it, and what comes back on the truck is a physical copy of our arithmetic.

Which means the install day is mostly a test of work done weeks earlier. A crew that is careful and quick cannot rescue an opening that was measured with one tape pull across the middle of a frame that is out of square by three eighths.

So we measure three widths, three heights and both diagonals per opening, we check sill slope, we probe for soft wood behind the stucco, and we take the smallest figure in each direction. It is slower. It is the entire job.

About the Wait

The second thing we are honest about is lead time. White vinyl in ordinary sizes has been running about three to five weeks. Colour, fiberglass, wood interior, tempered, obscure glass, grids or anything oversized runs six to ten, and glass supply can stretch that further.

We put the range on the quote with the reason next to it, because a lead time given vaguely turns into a complaint later, and because plenty of homeowners are working toward a real date. Better to hear no in week one than in week seven.

The Lock Date

We also write down the day after which your order cannot be changed. Once it releases to the line, the glass is cut and the frames are welded to your sizes, and a change is a new window at full price rather than an amendment.

Nobody enjoys being told that. Everybody prefers being told it in advance. That is the whole philosophy here: the unwelcome facts go at the front, where they are still useful.
